NightWatch is a state-of-the-art bedbug trap and monitor. It has caught up to 1,000 in a single night. If you have a light to moderate infestation, it may be all you need. |
||||
The NightWatch package includes the NightWatch (housing, 2 pitfall traps, CO2 release mechanism, electronic control, low voltage cord with transformer, and 4 scented lures. The package weighs 4 lbs. and measures 7" x 7" x 14". It has everything you need to monitor and catch bedbugs except the CO2 cartridge (shown on the left), which you must purchase separately. The lures last 7 days each. This unit will effectively attract bedbugs in a 16' x 16' room. Additional units may be required for larger rooms/suites. Operation is simple. You screw on the CO2 bottle, attach the low voltage power cord, snap in the Odor lure, replace the cover, and enter the time of day. We recommend that you place NightWatch in an empty room, near the head of the bed. The Nightwatch activates automatically at 10PM and shuts off at 6AM. See the Users Manual for detailed instructions. The next morning, check for bugs. If there are none, continue for 7-10 days, the feeding cycle. If you do not catch any, you most likely do not have bed bugs in that area. If you do and are still catching bugs at the end of 7 days, continue. You will see the numbers decline greatly. If you are still catching many after 14 days, call a professional. Remember that this machine caught 1000 bugs in a single night and around 10,000 during the test. Dispose of them in the toilet. They quickly drown. After treatment, continue to monitor and trap. You want to make sure they are gone and do not reappear. CO2 TANKS CO2 bottles come in 16 oz. to 24 oz. sizes, with 20 oz. the most common. The CO2 bottle and refills can be purchased at Lowes, some sporting goods stores, and Paintball stores and fields. An example of the 20 oz. is shown at left. Size is 10.5" x 3.12". Total weight when full is about 45 oz. A full 20 oz. bottle costs about $36.00 at Lowes. You exchange the empty for a full one for around $9.00. We recommend that you get more than one to reduce refill trips. You can order from Lowe's online to make sure it is in stock and pick it up at the store nearest you. If you do not have a Lowes, look here for a paintball facility near you through PBNation.com. If you are in the northern part of the country, try Dunhams. They carry the tanks and refill them. If you have many units or would like to fill your own, please call us for a solution. MAKE SURE the fitting is not galvanized and does not have a recessed stem (see photo at left). The stem should be level with the sides, not shorter, or it will not open when attached to the NightWatch. Some tanks, including Pure Energy, have recessed stems. Do not buy them. They are sold by Walmart and Dick's Sporting Goods. They will not work. When you refill, change the O-ring. If you don't, it may leak. Click to view the Users Manual. If you have questions, please call or email us. |
